Gifts Bring Funds To HEART Programs
Last holiday season, I decided to take the focus off of gift
buying and place it on raising funds for HEART. It occurred
to me that there are many on my gift list that really don’t
want, and certainly don’t NEED, a physical gift. As a
solution, I created Tribute gifts for 6 of the HEART programs.
I developed the cards, which had a description of the program,
a photo and a Holiday greeting: “Please receive this gift,
given in your name, as we celebrate all that connects us to
one another.” After packaging them in a rustic but handsome
manner, I decided that others might want to buy my gifts. Guess
what? They did! Throughout the season, I sold the gifts at church
and other holiday events. A lot of funds were raised, and it
helped me keep the real essence of the season alive. It truly
was a gift that kept on giving. I will continue to sell my gifts
